2015 Project Life layouts

A look in my scrapbook album - My monthly project life spreads

It’s been a little while since I last shared some of my scrapbooking with you, and seeing as it’s been a year since I first started posting about Project Life (here's a link to my Project Life Starter Guide) I thought I’d share an update!

I’ve used Project Life layout pages for a few years but it wasn’t until 2015 that I started using it as a way of documenting my life on a monthly basis. I know a lot of people who do it weekly, and although that’s something I’d love to do, it’s just not feasible for me right now. One thing I really want to do this year is to take more photos – there were a few months last year where I struggled to fill one PL page with enough photos to document a month! That sounds crazy, because it’s not like I didn’t do anything during the month, but I simply didn’t get my camera out. Usually I find I have the most photos for set events, such as birthdays and family occasions, but on standard evenings out with friends or even day to day tasks I don’t even think about photographing it. I love these little details though and it’s definitely something I’ll be working on including more of in my Project Life for 2016. My PL spreads are interspersed throughout my album, with 12x12 spreads in between some of the months which helps give my album a bit of variety.

Despite the above, you’ll see some of my spreads are very photo heavy. Towards the end of the year, when I found I had less photographs to share, I used more filler cards and embellishments which I really enjoyed adding. I also want to add more journaling into my 2016 spreads because I’d love to know more about what was happening rather than sporadic notes.

I haven’t photographed all 12 spreads, and there are a few bits I want to go back on and add to a couple of the months just to fill in some gaps. Some spreads I love, some not so much, but I love seeing the development from month to month as well as having something tangible to look back on. If there’s anything you want to know or see in more detail, let me know and I’ll be happy to share!
