A Dermalogica Skincare Review
PreCleanse - A cleansing oil that you apply over dry skin before your cleanser. I've never heard of a precleanser before and I'm still not completely convinced that it's absolutely necessary, but it has a lovely scent of citrus and smells much nicer than the exfoliant! It's an oil, but it doesn't leave an oily residue at all and emulsifies with water which you then rinse off.
Daily Microfoliant - A rice based powder exfoliant that is activated with water. I've never tried out a powder cleanser before either but with water it simply turns into a grainy sort of paste/scrub. I don't like the smell of this, although I can't put my finger on what it actually smells like! It doesn't feel too grainy or harsh on my skin and it exfoliates my skin nicely whilst leaving it super soft. I feel like it reduces my spots and blemishes much more quickly than before I used this product which is an added bonus!
Gentle Cream Exfoliant - This is a two in one masque that removes dead skin cells and creates extra smoothness for your skin. I'm a little put off by the fact it needs to stay on for 10-15 minutes before rinsing off, but I suppose I'm just a bit lazy! I take my makeup off right before bed so I'd need to allow a bit of preparation and time to use this one. It's supposed to be used 2-3 times a week, alternating use with the Microfoliant, but I'm yet to try it as I'm just reaching for the other one each night!
These were kindly sent to my by Liberty, and was in the Daily Microfoliant set which comes with two free gifts (the precleanse and the exfoliant - hence the sizes.) I'd heard quite a lot about Dermalogica before but had never used the brand myself or even explored into purchasing it. It has a hefty price tag, with the Microfoliant alone being £38.50 and isn't something I could justify with my current budget. It's a luxury skincare product for sure, and although I do love the results and think they work really well, I couldn't spend that much on a cleanser!
